Hey Nicky,
I had started writing you an e-mail the other night when I got yours,
but it got so late and I was falling asleep and I thought I would save
it for the morning. When I finally got to look at it today, I reread
what I’d written and realized that none of it made sense. NONE. I was
so tired and homeworked out, that it was just babbling about nothing,
so I scrapped it and decided to start again. I know I’ve sent you
messages since then ...but I wanted to write you a real e-mail,
something other than the one lined ‘I miss you tons and tons’ emails I
have been sending.
I have to tell you though, I love getting something from you in my
inbox every day. Now, I check my e-mail right as I wake up in case
you’ve emailed me a ‘good morning’ e-mail, and I always check, no
matter how tired I am, before I go to bed so I can hear from you just
before I fall asleep. It’s just another reminder of how much you love
me and how much I miss you and can’t wait to come see you in two weeks.
Two weeks, can you believe it?! I’ve been here for two and will be home
in two. The time is passing by very fast, but at the same time, it’s
because I’m either always in class, in the library or at practice.
Things are so hectic around here. Although we did find time last night
to go to a party that a friend of Jordana’s was having. I was actually
going to surprise you and call you, but the second I got back to my
room, Drew mentioned something about dinner and a party, so we ended up
doing that. But it was probably for the best, because it was crazy
around here and we wouldn’t have been able to talk as much as we will
when I call you this afternoon!
*wink wink*
I definitely do not think that Drew would be eager to comply with your
list of ways to de-stress me. Besides, it only really works when you do
it. So when I come home in TWO WEEKS, perhaps, if it won’t be TOO much
trouble if we make up for a whole month’s worth of stress. I could
really use some relaxing!
But seriously, things are going really well here. So you don’t have to
worry, although I know you will because it’s the kind of person you
are. Know that I’m doing fine. Even though things got off to a sort of
rocky start, I’m really getting into the swing of things here. I was
talking to a teachers’ assistant in one of my classes, and he was
giving me pointers on how to organize my time so that I have enough
time to get all of my work done, but still have time to relax and enjoy
myself. He understood how intimidating it is, being away from home for
the first time with out any supervision but at the same time having so
many expectations put upon us. So I’ve been working on that, and it’s
going pretty well for me.
Drew and I are getting pretty close, not that close so don’t be giving
me that look Nickolas! ;) Seriously though, he’s awesome and I can’t
believe how lucky I was that they roomed us together. I was just hoping
for someone who wouldn’t be some freaky moron or asshole, but he’s
really fun and we get along as if we’ve known each other forever.
Sometimes it’s good because it helps the fact that I miss Joey, Brian
and Chris SO MUCH, but at the same time, it makes me miss them that
much more. There are times when something happens and I automatically
look for one of them and am surprised when it’s Drew, Adam and Jordana
with me, not Brian, Joey or Chris. He says that he knows how it feels
because he is going through the same thing as I am. He misses his
friends from back home too, so we’ve spent a lot of time talking about
that.
For the most part though, I'm still just getting used to it all. I know
that Brian and Jordana are still emailing each other. Don’t tell anyone
though, I don’t want Rachael finding out, especially not from a second
or third party. Brian’s promised me to absolute secrecy, but I know I
can trust you with this information. And as bad as this might seem, I’d
prefer if you didn’t mention it to Justin. I know that Justin will tell
Chris and Chris will be pretty pissed off because of Brian’s
accusations about the two of you cheating on him. Not that Brian’s
doing anything *serious* ...
Kevin paused for a moment and reread his paragraph. Of course Brian was
doing something serious, although it wasn’t sexual, he was still, in a
way, cheating on Rachael. He knew that the second Nick read it, he
would feel the same way.
Forget I said that, it is serious. It is because it’s exactly what we
talked about before I left. He feels torn because on one hand he loves
Rachael and wants to be with her, but at the same time, he wants to be
with Jordana. I told him what you told me when he was down here, that
if he’s seeing Rachael as someone who is standing in the way of what he
wants, then he shouldn't be with her, but he said that he was just ..
Confused.
I don’t believe that.
I think he’s full of shit. If he is as much in love with Rachael as he
claims, then he wouldn’t be thinking about Jordana as much as he is.
And what bothers me, is that he’s, in a way, cheating on them both. The
only difference is that Jordana knows about Rachael and has decided not
to let that bother her. Except that it does. She’s got guys all over
her all the time, some who are very nice and AVAILABLE, but she keeps
turning them down because she, for some reason, really likes Brian. For
Rachael though, I feel bad because she has no idea about Jor.
It’s such a mess Nick, such a mess, but I had to tell you because I
trust you and need to just get it out to someone who will listen and
not judge me. I don’t know why I’m worried about being judged, I’m not
the one doing anything wrong, but at the same time, I know I should
tell Brian how I feel instead of ignoring it. I’ve told Jordana that
she needs to see what’s happening. That if Brian’s going to do this to
Rachael, he’ll do it to her too, but she doesn’t want to hear it. I
think she doesn’t want to hear it because she knows it’s true. Drew
agrees with me, but he tells me that it’s her mistake to make. She is
fully aware of the situation and is making her own decisions. I guess
he is right.
But on to other, less depressing issues! LOL. Gretchen says hello.
We’ve been emailing each other and she’s been telling me how crazy
things are for her in New York. She’s happy there, which is good. I was
worried about her at first, but her roommate is pretty cool, I talked
to her for a while when I called last week and Gretch was out. Gretchen
tells me that it’s everything she was hoping it would be. She mentioned
you and asked how you were doing. I told her that you were great, and
we were better than ever. That I miss you so much it hurts, but its’ a
good kind of hurt. She told me I was lame and corny.
Thankfully you love lame and corny! ;)
On to your e-mail. Holy cow, Marshall asked Emily out? That’s really
...weird. Not that she’s not cute, because she is, but it’s just kind
of weird. I hope that everything’s turned out okay with all of that.
The last thing Kyle needs is to be messing with Marshall and his crew.
Not that he would get far, because there are more people that dislike
them than like them, and Kyle would have enough back up for whatever
they came at him with, but still, they’ll try and make his and everyone
else’s life miserable. If things get too bad, talk to Joey. Tell him
what you told me and it’ll be fine. Trust me.
Tell Britney congratulations if she made the Ho-Train, as Joey would
call it. I remember her from auditions last year, and I know she’s a
friend of yours and a sweet girl, but her and Christina were ...lets
just say entertaining. Very entertaining. I know they were new and not
sure what to expect, but still... I’ll stop before you get too angry
with me! LOL
I’m sure she was better this year and that she made it. If she didn’t,
tell her I’m sorry and that she’s better off without them anyways.
As for my birthday, I don’t want anything. I can’t think of anything I
need, except just a whole weekend to see you and spend time with you.
That’s what I want. To come home, for us to go out to the Shack like
old times, to maybe sit at my house (without my parents there of
course) and cuddle as we watch TV and maybe .... *wink wink*.
But we don’t even have to do that. I just want to see you, and touch
you and kiss you and be able to talk to you while we’re both in the
same room. That’s what I want for my birthday.
I loved the pictures that you sent me, I’ve got them saved in my
special "Nicky" folder. I had to refrain myself from skipping the whole
e-mail to just look at the pictures. You’re still as adorable and
gorgeous and sexy as when I left. I thought that since you had sent me
some pictures, that it was time to send you pictures as well. I took a
few of myself, okay I took TONS of myself, but I’m going to send a few
at a time. So randomly I might send you pictures or whatever. But then
I thought I’d send you pics of everyone I’m always talking about. So
there’s a picture of Drew and I ...as you know, that’s my roommate.
Then there’s a pic of Drew, Celina, who is Jordana’s roommate, and
Jordana. There’s one of the whole floor. Well, all the people that we
hang out with. Adam and his roommate are there, Shelby’s there. S he
doesn’t live on our floor but she might as well since she’s here all
the time. And then the last picture is one that shows you how much I
love and miss you! As you can
see by how wide my arms are spread out, it’s a whole damn lot!!!
So as much as I don’t want to end this e-mail, I must. I have to do a
few pages of an assignment and then I’m going to call you. I’d call you
right away, but if I do, this will never get done and I’ve actually got
to go to the library to get a book for it.
Remember how much I love you, and I’ll call you in a few hours baby.
Love you,
Kev
Kevin reread the e-mail, changed and added a few things before he hit
send and stood up, stretching his cramped muscles. Drew was in the
shower so he left his roommate a note that he’d be back in less than an
hour.
It was amazing how well he and Drew had gotten along. As he’d told
Nick, Kevin had never expected to become close friends with his
roommate, he hadn’t really thought about anything beyond moving to UCLA
and having to share his personal space with a virtual stranger. And
even when they’d first met, Kevin kept waiting for things to stabilize
and the two of them to go their own way. Of course they hung out
together at the very beginning, they were the only ones each other
knew, but as they spent more time together, Kevin realized that he’d
been fortunate enough to get a roommate that he would have things in
common with and become friends.
The walk to the library was quick, there weren’t many people walking
around outside. He swiped his card through the scanner and headed
through the turn style into the vast, large building. It took him
nearly no time to find the natural resources section of the library, a
section he had an idea that he would be spending a lot of his time in
for the next four years. It was a beautiful and quiet section of the
library that not a lot of people outside of their programme used. The
shelves were tucked back in the back of the building, partially hidden
and provided students with complete privacy. At first Kevin had found
it unnerving, but he was quickly finding that it was one of his
favourite places to read and do assignments because he could stop by
and do his work without being interrupted by the usual distractions of
people using the library as a social event.
An hour later, Kevin had sufficiently gathered the books he would need,
as well as photocopied journal articles that would also help his paper.
He stopped off at the campus Starbucks and bought himself a latte
before heading back to his dorm room. People were starting to wake up
and mill around the campus, enjoying the beautiful weather and taking a
break from their studies to relax and de-stress. There were a few
Frisbee games taking place on the grassy knolls, people were playing
hackey sack, as well as people were just sitting around, chattering
excitedly about plans that night and parties the night before.
Upon his return to their room, Kevin found that Drew had gone. There
was a note on the wipe board that caused for his breath to catch. The
first part indicated that Drew had gone to take a shower and would be
back soon. It was the next sentence that stopped Kevin in his track.
Kev, your Nick called.
Your Nick. His Nick. Drew knew, he had to know because why else would
he say ‘your Nick’. Like Nick was his to be had. Of course he was
Kevin’s Nick, proudly so, but Drew wasn’t supposed to know that. The
latte in Kevin’s stomach began to churn and with trembling hands, he
placed the still half full container onto his desk and sat down,
wondering how on earth he was going to explain himself. A slight
feeling of anger passed over Kevin and he fought to calm himself down.
He’d explicitly told Nick in the e-mail that HE would call HIM, not for
Nick to call him. Nick didn’t know that Drew wasn’t aware of their
relationship, so of course he was going to think Drew knew all about
him. And for that reason, he wouldn’t hesitate in mentioning their
boyfriend status.
Kevin's anger quickly turned into shame and regret and he fought not to
bang his head against the wall. Nick had every right to call him
whenever he wanted. He’d never gotten mad at Chris or Joey for phoning
in the middle of the day. He’d been excited to hear from them, just as
he was supposed to be excited to hear from Nick. This was not supposed
to be a cause for alarm or anxiety, he was supposed to be thrilled that
Nick called, unable to wait to hear his voice.
The door to their room opened, startling Kevin out of the million and
ten things that were floating around in his head. He looked over to see
Drew enter their room, a towel around his waist, a tee shirt covering
his torso and flip flops on his feet. Drew carried a small basket of
his toiletries and Kevin held his breath as their eyes met. With Drew’s
return, Kevin expected an onslaught of anger and rage. Anger that Kevin
had lied and led him to believe that his 'girlfriend' back home was in
fact a boy. Rage that Kevin was gay. To his surprise, Kevin received
neither of those reactions. Instead, Drew’s mouth curled up into a
smile and he nodded.
"Look at you Bookworm," Drew walked across the room to his dresser and
set his basket down.
"Excuse me?" Kevin asked with a laugh of relief.
Drew rolled his eyes. "Just because the library opens at nine on
Saturday, doesn’t mean you have to BE there at nine?"
"Says the guy who never leaves until closing practically every day,"
Kevin teased back. His pulse was slowly returning to normal and he
could feel the adrenaline that was pumping through his blood lessening.
There was still a slight air of awkwardness in the room, but Kevin
assumed Drew couldn’t register it, it was all him.
Kevin averted his eyes while Drew slipped on a pair of underwear under
his towel. He dressed in a pair of basketball style shorts and made his
way to his bed to sit down. Kevin turned on his computer and waited for
it to boot up, for the second time that morning. He was going to call
Gretchen after he spoke to Nick, if she wasn’t home, he was definitely
sending her an e-mail, he needed help.
"Did you get the note?" Drew asked. Kevin’s back straightened and he
held his breath. This was the defining moment.
"Uhhh, yeah. What..." Kevin needed to know what Drew meant by ‘your
Nick’, but didn’t want to raise suspicions.
"When you talk to him, tell him that it was okay, he didn’t wake me up."
"Huh?"
Drew laughed, which furthered Kevin’s confusion. The phone rang right,
and I was awake, but when I reached over to pick it up, it sounded like
I was asleep but it was because I was hanging off of the bed. He got
worried that he’d woken me up, so tell him it’s okay. Besides, I need
to be up anyways, I’m meeting Jor and Shelby at the Athletic Centre at
eleven."
"What did you mean by ‘your Nick?’" Kevin asked, blurting the question
out. He watched Drew look at the board and then laugh.
"Your Nick. If I wrote on the board, ‘Kevin, Nick phoned’, you wouldn’t
know if it was my Nick or yours. So I just thought I’d clarify that..."
Drew stopped for a moment and laughed. "But if my Nick phoned, I
wouldn’t be leaving YOU a note now would I?"
"Not that I would think," Kevin’s voice was a little shaky and his
stomach was fluttering like crazy. He’d read too much into it. His
guilty conscience was reacting to a harmless note and Kevin suddenly
felt stupid. He felt stupid and like a horrible boyfriend who sure as
hell didn’t deserve Nick.
Drew still was oblivious to Kevin’s inner turmoil. "So yeah," he shook
his head. "Never mind. It made sense at the time."
"Oh," Kevin’s laugh was too loud and sounded forced. Drew raised an
eyebrow but didn’t comment. "I was just wondering."
Before their conversation could continue, there was a knock on the
door. The roommates both jumped and Kevin called for them to enter.
Jordana and Shelby entered the small room with giant grins on their
faces. "Drew, Kevin, good morning." Jordana greeted them with a wave.
"How are you both this fine morning?" Shelby added.
"Good," Drew looked at his watch and then at the girls. "I thought we
were meeting at the AC."
Jordana rolled her eyes and shook her head. "We didn’t get out for our
run. I woke up about a half an hour ago, so I figured we’d stop by and
get you on the way over." Jordana looked at Kevin and smiled. "You
wanna come play some basketball?"
"Football is my sport," Kevin said with a shrug. "Besides, I have a few
things I need to do around here."
"We still going to the beach?" Shelby asked. Her cell phone had gone
off and she was checking a text message. Kevin looked at his roommate
in confusion, he hadn’t heard anything about the beach.
Drew shrugged. "We’d discussed it last night, I think you were in the
other room talking to that dude from your Psych class. Celina suggested
we take the afternoon and go to the beach."
"I’m all for that," Kevin agreed. They discussed it and after Shelby
sent out another page, they agreed to meet in the parking lot at three.
That gave them a few hours to play basketball and then come back to get
ready for an afternoon at the beach. The rest of the night would be
played by ear.
Kevin waited until he had the room to himself, got a Dr. Pepper from
the mini fridge they had stocked in the corner of the room and made
himself comfortable on his computer chair. He booted up his Internet
programme and waited to see who was online. Gooberpatrol02 was
currently online, Kevin’s lips curled into a giant grin. He picked up
his phone and dialed Nick’s number, not surprised at all when he picked
up on the first ring.
"Hello?" Nick asked, nearly breathless. He was worried that Drew was
still mad that he’d woken him up, and that consequently, Kevin would be
upset too. It had been early to call, but Nick hadn’t been thinking
about the time when he’d phoned Kevin. He also hadn’t checked his
e-mail at that point and so hadn’t known that Kevin said he was going
to phone him when he was finished doing some school work.
"Hey gorgeous," Kevin responded. He double clicked on his web cam icon
and sent gooberpatrol02 an invitation to view it. Seconds later, he
received acceptance from Nick and an invitation to view Nick’s.
"I’m so sorry for waking Drew up," Nick said. His breath caught in his
throat as Kevin’s face took up his entire screen. There was a blinking
message at the bottom of his monitor and Nick clicked on Justin’s IM
box.
Gooberpatrol02: gotta go for a bit, Kev’s online
Gooberpatrol01: dude, call me later. We’re so getting together this
afternoon with Lance. I NEED details
Gooberpatrol02: duh. Totally.
Gooberpatrol01: tell Kevin I say hey. Later.
Gooberpatrol02: bye
"Nick?" Kevin asked, trying to get Nick’s attention. He could hear
clicking of the keys through the phone and saw Nick concentrating on
something on the screen.
"Sorry, I was just telling J I’ll talk to him later."
Almost instantly, a message popped up next to Nick’s name on their
messenger programme, telling other users that he was unavailable.
Kevin’s face was in a wide grin.
"Drew said to tell you not to worry, he wasn’t asleep. He was just
hanging off of the bed, which was why he sounded so weird."
Nick breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay, I didn’t realize how early it
was until I heard him answer the phone all sleepy. And then I hadn’t
even checked my e-mail at that time, so I didn’t know you’d already
emailed me to tell me that you were going to call me later."
Kevin felt returning feelings of shame fill him for being upset that
Nick had called. He pushed those to the back of his head and refused to
think about it.
"It’s okay Nick, we were both up, no worries."
"I know, it’s just ...oh my god, Lance phoned first thing and had
Justin and I on three-way calling, and what he told me.." Nick gave a
giggle which caused for Kevin’s stomach to flip excitedly. "I couldn’t
not call you. I mean, you’ll probably think it’s lame and not a big
deal, but it’s so a big deal."
Kevin’s laughter was light and he watched Nick bounce in his seat. He
noticed that Nick’s hair was getting long again, shaggy and slightly
messy from sleep. He longed to run his fingers through the blonde
tresses, but at the same time, missed the short spikes that Nick had
gotten at the beginning of the year. His cheeks were starting to fill
out and Kevin could tell that Nick was slowly maturing. He felt his
groin tighten and his heart swell. "What happened?"
"You promise not to tell anyone?" Nick knew that Kevin wouldn't betray
his confidence, but still had to ask. "I mean, anyone."
"Of course," Kevin was intrigued. He watched as Nick twirled a strand
of hair around his finger and curled up on his computer chair, folding
his long, lean legs against his chest. Nick looked right into the
camera, causing Kevin to lean forward. Nick’s lips curled into a sexy
smirk which took Kevin’s breath away. "You’re so beautiful," Kevin
couldn’t help but whisper. Nick blushed.
"I miss you," Nick whispered back. He tried to memorize every feature
of Kevin’s face and found himself rendered speechless. The moment
passed as quickly as it came and Nick remembered the story he was just
about to tell Kevin.
He spoke about how Lance had phoned him and Justin first thing that
morning, as soon as he’d woken up. By the time Lance had gotten home
from AJ’s the night before, it was too late and he didn't want to risk
waking anyone up. He told Kevin word for word, everything that Lance
had confessed to him, his voice low yet filled with excitement.
Silence filled the line when Nick was finished his story. They were
both breathing heavily, minds having wandered and fantasies filling
their heads. Kevin cleared his throat and quietly palmed his erection.
"So ...they watched porn together?"
"Yeah," Nick breathed. He’d never watched porn before, hadn’t ever seen
a naked body except for his own and Kevin’s. It was something so
foreign to him, yet at the same time exciting. Nick couldn’t imagine
watching people have sex but the thought of it sent jolts through his
body to his dick. "Aje got it from Josh, we knew they’d watched porn
before. Chrissy told me that Kyle’s brother had gotten them a porno and
they wanted to see what the big deal was, but we didn’t know ..."
Kevin thought back to the first porn movie that he’d watched. Like
Kyle, he’d gotten it from his brother. It had been before his
seventeenth birthday and so Kevin would know what he was doing when he
and Gretchen finally did it, his brother had taken him aside and shown
him a few movies. Kevin had been excited and shamed at the same time,
because his attention focused alternately on the women and the men in
the movie. He hadn't known what had hit him.
"..J and I haven’t ever seen one. We’ve never even seen a dirty
magazine, but Lance said it was so sexy. Kind of weird at times, but oh
my god, have you ever watched one?" Nick was almost afraid of Kevin’s
answer. He assumed that his boyfriend had watched a porno before, but
still felt the need to ask. Kevin’s sharp intake of breath and pause
told Nick what he knew. Still, Kevin responded.
"Yeah."
"When?"
"Last summer. Chris, Brian and I had watched a few."
"Did you like it?" Nick asked, curious. Now that everyone he knew had
been watching pornos, he wanted to watch.
"It was okay. I mean, I hope Lance doesn't realize that it’s not always
like it is on the movies. They’re professionals, plus it’s scripted."
They continued to talk about movies and sex, both just glad to be
talking to the other. Before they knew it, two hours had passed by and
Drew had returned to their room.
"I’m going to take a shower and then go down to Jor’s room to watch a
movie. We’re meeting everyone in the parking lot at three," Drew
relayed to Kevin who nodded.
"Was that Drew?" Nick asked curiously.
"Yeah. He just got back from playing basketball with the girls. We’re
all going to the beach this afternoon."
"Cool," Nick longed to be there with them. Kevin had total freedom. He
could do his homework whenever he wanted, didn’t have to worry about
his parents or curfew, and could pretty much go wherever he wanted to
go whenever he wanted to go there.
It was after Drew had dressed again after the second shower of the day
that Kevin realized he should wrap up his conversation with Nick. As
much as he wanted to, he couldn’t spend the whole day on the phone with
Nick, he had people he should be social with, and Nick needed to be out
with his friends, doing something other than spending his Saturday on
the phone.
"Baby?" Kevin whispered softly. "I should get going." He watched Nick
frown and pout on the computer screen and couldn’t help but smile.
"You’re so adorable when you sulk."
"Shut up," Nick tried to keep the smile from his face but couldn’t.
Finally he sighed. "I know. J’s probably going crazy."
As if Justin had known they were talking about him, Nick received an IM
from his best friend.
Gooberpatrol01: are you STILL talking to him?
Gooberpatrol02: shut up, we’re just finishing up.
Gooberpatrol01: good, come over when you’re done. Mom says it’s cool.
Gooberpatrol01: ride your bike, so we can ride over to Lance’s.
Gooberpatrol02: okay, I'll call you when I'm done on the phone.
"So what’s the plan?" Kevin asked with a laugh. He could see the range
of expressions on Nick’s face and knew that whatever it was, they’d be
having fun.
"Gonna ride over to J’s and then we’re going to go to Lance’s house.
Gooberpatrol01: Chris mentioned something about seeing a movie. Lets
see who all we can get to come.
"And a movie. Chris suggested to Justin that we go to a movie tonight."
Kevin felt a tug on his heart strings and fought the jealousy that was
ebbing inside of him. They talked for another five minutes until Kevin
knew he had to get off the phone immediately. "Okay, I’m going to go
Nick."
"Okay, have fun at the beach. I love you so much."
"I love you too."
A few moments of silence passed between them as they both stared at the
computer screen. Nick gave Kevin a giant grin that caused for Kevin’s
stomach to flutter.
"I’ll call you next," Nick said.
"I can’t wait."
"Bye Kev," Nick waited until he heard Kevin return the sentiment and
hung up the phone. He blew his web camera a kiss and saw Kevin do the
same. Nick clicked out of the window before Kevin had a chance to stand
up and walk away. He closed his eyes, pictured his boyfriend in his
mind and smiled.
Gooberpatrol02: You still there?"
A few minutes passed, Nick got dressed, slipping on a pair of jeans and
a tee shirt. He was sliding his feet into his running shoes when he
heard his IM notification.
Gooberpatrol01: Yeah, just went pee. What’s up?
Gooberpatrol02: Gonna leave now. See you in a bit.
Gooberpatrol02 has logged off.
Nick shut down his computer and flew down the stairs. "Bye mom, going
to Justin’s."
Jane shook her head and rolled her eyes. She exchanged a glance with
her husband who was smirking behind his cup of coffee. "Will you be
home for dinner?"
"Not sure," Nick sprinted into the kitchen. "I’ll call you."
"How is Kevin?" Bob Carter asked. Nick’s cheeks blushed and he looked
at the phone on the wall. There was a light that was displayed when
another extension was in use, and he knew for certain they’d been aware
that for the past two and a half hours, he’d been on the phone with his
boyfriend.
"Good. He called, so don’t worry." Nick grinned at the way his mother’s
eyebrows raised. "So can I go?"
"To Justin’s?"
Nick nodded. "Duh, is it okay? We’re going to go to Lance’s."
"Do you need a ride?" Bob asked. Nick shook his head.
"Nah, gonna ride our bikes. Someone mentioned something about not being
a chauffeur." Nick winked at his mother who narrowed her eyes at him.
"I’ll call you later."
Before they could protest, Nick bolted out the front door and into the
garage to grab his bike. There were some details that he knew Lance was
holding back, so he and Justin were going right over to find out
exactly what Lance and AJ had watched and how they could get him to
show them the tapes too.

Chapter 21 >
