Some notes of introduction

I honestly never thought this story was ever going to be finished, let alone ready to be read by anyone.  I know I've said this before, but I can't not repeat it.  It started out as another one parter for my The One series and ...well snowballed into the story you will see before you.  There are so many outside sources that went into writing this story, from personal experiences to things I've seen in movies and tv... that I absolutely adore everything and everyone in this story! LOL..

Lincoln High came from my watching my dvd box set of Freaks and Geeks (the best TV show that no one saw!!!). The first quarter of the story was written in the two weeks it took me to watch the whole season on DVD.  It was the episode where Sam was supposed to be the McKinley High Mascot, and the team they were playing were from Lincoln High. Then Daniel, Ken and Kim were beat up by the Lincoln kids and.. yeah. So that's where that came from, had to give my props to Freaks and Geeks!!!  Also, there were a few songs that when I heard them, I thought of this story.  Somebody Told Me by The Killers is one of them, Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson is another.

The presence of Billy and Kyle are for Rhonda.  And because I miss them!  

And yes, they (everyone) do a lot of blushing and giggling in this story. They’re 14-17, all young and having first crushes and first loves and all the awkwardness that comes with puberty. Deal. There are parts of this story that have made me cry, laugh and want to scream. I can’t even begin to explain how important Justin and Nick’s relationship in this story is to me.  I think they all have wonderful relationships with one another, but there is just something with Justin and Nick that make me want to pull them close and protect them through this whole story. Some scenes, as I was writing them, I saw with such frightening clarity that it gave me goose bumps and I would have to stop and take a moment or two.  There are subtle touches, looks and words that just make me smile and want to jump right into this world.  There were days when I couldn’t write fast enough and all I could think about when I was away from my computer was getting back home and writing, to days where I wasn’t sure I could get from point A to point B without tearing my hair out. It’s hard when you know what’s going to happen but are unsure of how to get there and do so without rushing everything in between which is why it's taken me so long to get to this point LOL.

As a pre-amble to the story, I wanted to include pictures of how I envisioned everyone when I was writing the story, just so you can get a better idea of who they are and what they are to look like... although, Britney's hair should be blonder than what the pictures portray.  The pics of Brit and Christina have been scanned from their first cds (thanks Rhonda ) and here, Britney's hair is blonder than I have it in the story.  As well, Kevin's hair is longer in the story, think the Kevin in the pic below, but with hair down to his jaw... a la summer of 2001.  More pics will follow when the story calls for it .  Oh, and Justin.... his hair is in it's prime afro state! LOL...

The story is AU, and hence regular rules and characters do not apply.  Nick and Kevin are not 9 years apart in age, as Chris and Justin are not 10.  I've pretty much, with the exception of a few creative liberties, kept things as per real life (family members' names etc), but as I said, if something isn't 100% right, it's not meant to be real life.
